What Happens After the Sale?
Congratulations! First and foremost, we’d like to thank you for choosing Woodland Windows and Doors for your window and door replacement project. Our sales representatives, installers, and support team will do whatever it takes to assure you are satisfied with your purchase and with our service.
Once we receive your signed contract and deposit, the order timeline begins. To be assured that what we are ordering is correct, we send one of our veteran installers out to your home to do a final re-measure before any product is ordered. We believe in the motto “measure twice, cut once.” This theory is to alleviate any oversights. We re-measure the openings, make installation notes for our installers, and take photographs of the openings.
Our project coordinator will contact you either by phone or via email to schedule the appointment for the re-measure. You can expect to be contacted within 72 hours of placing your order. We respect that your time is valuable, therefore your re-measure appointment should only take approximately 15-60 minutes, depending on the number of openings that need to be measured. These appointments are scheduled Monday-Friday between the hours of 9am-4pm. We feel this process is extremely valuable and hope that you can understand the value in it as well.
Once your project has been re-measured and verified, your order goes through our internal ordering process. We have a system in place to assure that what you signed for is what is being ordered. We also have a support team that will monitor your order throughout the process. You can expect to receive another call or email from our project coordinator once your re-measure is complete to forecast installation date(s) so you have enough time to prepare and ensure that your home is available on the day(s) of your scheduled installation. Installation dates are determined by the product lead time (provided there are no delays from the manufacturer), availability in our installation calendar, and any additional service(s) that you may have selected (i.e.: prefinishing). Please contact your city and/or village to determine if a building permit is required for the installation of your replacement windows and/or doors. Woodland does not pull permits for jobs, however we are available to help answer questions regarding the process of applying for permits. In our efforts to keep you informed throughout the process, should a problem arise our project coordinator will contact you right away to make you aware of the issue. Please note that sometimes weather is a factor and can sometimes delay the progress of an install. We will do what we can to work around these delays, should they occur.
As your projected installation date draws near, you will receive a call from our installation coordinator. At this time, our installation coordinator will answer any questions you may have regarding what you can expect of us the day of your install as well as make you aware of what you can do for us the day of the install. Your Woodland team will be led by a crew leader, of whom you can ask questions about your product or installation. On the first day of your installation, the crew leader will walk with you throughout the home, observing the jobsite, and explaining how they are going to proceed. We will protect the hallways in your home with runner tarps and your floors with drop cloths in the work areas. On multiple day installs, we clean up the jobsite on a daily basis and take any debris with us and dispose of it. To limit debris, we generally start on the upper floors and/or farthest from the entry. Window and door replacement is considered a major construction project, therefore to protect your furnishing from dust, we suggest you use sheets or a light piece of plastic to cover them. We also ask that you kindly move furniture to allow clearance around each window and door opening as well as remove any hanging pictures and breakable items from the work area. Before we leave, the crew leader will do a complete walk-through of the work we have done and teach you how to operate your new windows and doors. If your order was prefinished by Woodland, your crew leader will perform minor touch ups including filling of nail holes. Should any major touch-up work be required, we will contact you to schedule a Woodland technician to come back to your home and complete the work.
We will install your new windows and doors with as little disruption to your home as possible. By the end of the install, we expect you will be satisfied with the work we have done. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact us as soon as possible at 630-529-DOOR (3667). Once again, we thank you for your business
