In-Home Consultation Process
We understand that deciding to replace your worn out windows and doors can be an overwhelming process. Our sales team is dedicated to making the process go as smoothly as possible. Our sales team prides themselves on being informative with a no-pressure experience in the comfort of your own home. Your time is valuable and we respect that, so you can expect your sales appointment to take approximately 30-90 minutes.
Before we even ring your doorbell, your sales rep will examine the job from the exterior and make notes on the appearance, type of windows, grille patterns, exterior construction material, etc. When we come into your home, your sales rep will talk with you and address your concerns and problems with your existing windows and doors, as well as understand what you are looking for in new windows and doors. Your sales rep will take measurements and inspect the window and door openings for issues such as rotting wood, water leaks, etc. Once the openings are measured, your sales rep will help you select the product(s) that will work the best in your home based on the size of the openings, the options you are looking for, and what is going to perform the best in your home and on your budget. The measurements that our sales reps take are accurate, however to ensure a proper fit we send out one of our experienced craftsman to take precise measurements and confirm that what is proposed for the job will fit the openings after an order is placed. We believe in the motto “measure twice, cut once.” Many of our sales reps have been in the business for a number of years, so they can offer up design solutions that can change the look of an opening. Ideas include the following (but are not limited to): a bump out awning unit over a kitchen sink, building a knee wall, removing a knee way, opening up a wall, and closing up an opening.
Generally, your sales rep is able to provide a written proposal before they leave your home. There are some instances however where product has to be quoted from one of our vendors. In that case, we will have to get back to you with a quote, generally within 24-48 hours depending on the product that needs to be quoted. Your sales rep will walk you through the proposal, making sure that you understand what is being quoted and to ensure that there is no miscommunication between what you want and what is quoted. Your rep will also talk to you about what the installation process, lead time, and what you can expect the day of the install.
To better serve our customers, we also offer financing options that your sales rep will be glad to discuss with you if you so choose. For those customers that are ready to place the order, your sales rep will have you sign the proposal and collect the 40% deposit that is required on all new orders to start the process. Not ready to place an order that day? No problem. We encourage our customers to visit our 2,000-square foot showroom. Most of the products that we quote we have on display and any one of our sales reps can walk you through what has been quoted to you. Since our outside sales reps are generally on the road, if you would like to meet with your rep, we encourage you to make an appointment to meet him/her in our showroom.
